Scotland |
Perth
and Kinross Education Department renew for the fourth year the
Touch-type Read and Spell Course. They have now extended the
provision of the TTRS Course to 45 schools in Perth and Kinross. |

Bromley Field Studies Centre
TTRS Teacher Training and Pilot to commence March 2008 |
The Field Studies Centre is situated on the edge
of Scadbury Park Nature Reserve. Since 1988 the centre has offered
free and unique training opportunities for adults and young people.
The training is delivered in partnership with local organisations.

Roman Catholic Primary School, Lewisham, London
St Augustines commission a full annual licence
in January 2008 after taking part and seeing the results of research
over the past year with their pupils.
The research will be completed and available
for presentation at the British Dyslexia Association International
Conference 2008. |

October 2007: Bolton Community College: Teacher Training at the
Manchester Road Centre. The success of the TTRS Course in supporting
students with literacy difficulties at Bolton Community College over
the past two years has led to an expansion this year of the TTRS
course to 100 students and the need for more staff to be fully
trained. Students ages range from 16 years of age to a very active
student of 84 years of age. |

TTRS Course
Completion Certificates are awarded to two students who have attended and
completed all twenty four levels of the TTRS course. The students attended
one hour each, per week, for up to three years. The centre is directed by
Mick and Wendy Harvey who congratulated the students on their perseverance,
dedication and success.

4th July 2007 Irene Heskett, the TTRS Bromley Course
Director, being thanked and presented on her retirement with a bouquet of
flowers and many presents from her students at the end of term certificate
presentation ceremony, at Bromley College of Further Education, Kent. Irene
has delivered the TTRS course for the past 15 years and was an associate in
the early development of the course contributing many valuable ideas and
additions. Irene is traveling to China and representing TTRS there and then
onto her home country of Australia in October for a long and well deserved
holiday! We all thank Irene for her dedication over many courses at many
centres to so many students over so many years.
